Great Basement (or Garage) Storage

Posted September 22nd, 2008 by Tina Gleisner

While close to the water in Newburyport, the condo basement is dry offering great storage options. Our customer requested shelving along 2 walls, and wanted them deep (2 ft) which meant built-ins versus shelving you buy and assemble.

My Handyman technicians average 15 years of experience in a variety of construction trades. They provide customers with advice and alternative solutions for each project they complete. Our technician maximized the shelving on the condo’s back wall while leaving access to maintain the hot water heater.

Tips for Building Basement Shelving

  • Buy plywood (4 x 8 ft sheets) at Home Depot and have them cut it
  • Use pressure treated wood (less sensitive to water) on the bottom
  • Leave top shelves open for easier access.
