Bathrooms: Great Teamwork Gets the Job Done!
Posted October 7th, 2008 by tinaWhen you need quick turnaround, everyone on the team needs to be flexible, including the customer. We needed to get both bathrooms done before the flooring project started. This meant working with fixtures available locally. We started with color choices and customer sign-off on a vanity … and then the fun began.
There is more to a bathroom than just the vanity. You need a countertop, sink and faucet. The dilema was locating these quickly and here’s how we did it … in just a few days:
- Jennifer Myers, the interior decorator for the project, found a great combination sink with countertop, plus a light fixture (faucet out of stock where she shopped).
- Tina Gleisner, My Handyman of Southern NH, picked everything up from Jennifer and brought it to the customer’s office for approval.
- The customer loved everything. I picked up a matching faucet and drove everything down to the condo the same day, as we needed to get a fully functional 2nd floor bathroom before we could start demo on the master bath.
What we learned from this project is you will save time, and a few headaches, if you collect all the new fixtures for a remodeling project ahead of time. This avoids having to synchronize the handyman working and the decorator (or owner) shopping at the same time.
