Bathroom Remodel Means Lots of Decisions!
Posted October 20th, 2008 by tinaA small bathroom remodel can involve 100s of decisions. Here is a list of the key decisions made for a master bathroom in a small, 3 bedroom condo. You can compare this to an article I wrote a year ago, Tips for Remodeling Your Bathroom.
Initial customer requirements:
- Replace shower with nice base, walls tiled and glass door - used Swanstone base, tile and glass door … 5 decisions.
- Tile walls throughout room to roughly 4 ft high - replacing tiled walls with tile chair rail to save costs … 3 decisions.
- Tile floors - in process, with focus shifted to walls to make decision on chair rail … 1 decision.
- Replace vanity, countertop, sink and faucet - first priority was the vanity (on site); decorator working on other items … 4 decisions.
- Replace all fixtures from the mirror and lights, to towel and toilet paper accessories. Mirror and lights will be finalized after vanity installed … 9 decisions, including fixtures and placement.
- Paint bathroom - based on earlier “color emergency,” we will audition new colors on a single wall before painting the entire room.
