Bathroom Remodel Design Choices

Posted October 20th, 2008 by tina

It’s easy to say you want to remodel your bathroom. You want a tile floor, maybe tile walls and maybe update the shower or bathtub. Those are the big decisions, but there are many more small decisions and here we focused as much on the walls as the vanity and shower.

Our decorator, Jennifer Myers Interiors, worked with the client to select the tile (floor and walls). When we saw the higher cost of the bronze bathroom fixtures, we proposed a tile chair rail instead of tile around the entire room … to stay within budget.

This weekend I went to the condo to create several mock-up chair rails, so our client can stop by and decide which design he likes best. The 2 decisions to be made here:

  • Select a chair rail design, for the shower and around the perimeter of the room.
  • Select tile to go above the chair rail in the shower, i.e. match below or pick a lighter color.
