What Do Rain & Apples Have in Common?

Newton

Newton spent a lot of time researching the most minute of details before writing up the law of gravity.

Gravity is a key factor in how houses are built. Starting at the top, a house is built to keep rain outside so each layer is meant to overlap the layers below to insure the water flows down to the ground. This is similar to holding an umbrella over your head so the water falls around you, and may hit your raincoat but it shouldn’t go down your neck.

Hopefully the ground around your home also slopes away from the house, so gravity can keep on working for you … but sometimes with new houses, the dirt around the house will compact in the first 1-2 years and need to be built back up.

Blogging is fun as I get to right about a wide range of topics. Usually I write about things related to the handyman work we do for our customers or research to help you understand your choices in addressing known problems.

TODAY is a little different. My husband found a really cool website that i wanted to share with you. Like Newton’s apple, there is some animation. You’ll see that like the apple, most things follow gravity and flow from top to bottom.
