About Tina

I look at life as one BIG adventure. I was born in New York City and I’ve lived and worked around the world, from New York to California, Tokyo and Hong Kong. We moved to New Hampshire in 1999, the longest I’ve lived anywhere.

After school (MS in Computer Science from RPI, MBA from Pepperdine University) I joined IBM in NY, followed by a transfer to California (husband went to UC Berkeley). I was a jack-of-all-trades developing products, supporting customer IT departments, leading e-Business consulting teams and managing multi-discipline teams around the world.

After 30+ years in technology, I wanted to live and work in the same place. I always wanted to run my own business, so I started My Handyman in 2003. We had just completed a large addition (4 floors, 1000 sq ft) on our 100+ year old Victorian in Portsmouth, NH. Living with contractors (1+ yrs) can be stressful yet I found them professional. I was ready to jump into a new industry where I would find new challenges.

Business ownership after marriage (30+ yrs) really teaches you your strengths and weaknesses. I enjoy creating processes to deliver consistent, high quality service and much to my surprise, learned that marketing feeds my creative spirit. First a web site, then Handyman News(letter), and articles to address my customers’ most common problems and projects.

In 2006, I started 4 Walls 1 Roof, a co-marketing network of women business owners and professionals providing products and services for the home. I’m working to leverage social media and take this concept to the next level, to create connections between business owners and consumers that enhance lifestyles and the communities where we live. Women have the ability to change the economic landscape when they buy local, from those they know, like and trust.

When not working, I enjoy the NH beaches, biking and walking with my husband and chocolate lab, Samantha. You might meet me at a local networking event or just hanging out with friends, reading and when time permits (ha, ha), I love quilting.
