We’re interacting with out customers via e-mail much more, which is good and bad. The good part is we can share their feedback more easily, i.e. the testimonials on this page. The not so good, is we don’t always get all they’d like to communicate and there’s less interaction … until everyone (you) out there starts leaving us feedback by clicking on comments below.

Feedback - “Of my three experiences, I was totally satisfied except for one call not being returned promptly. My wife and I were pleased with the work performed at our home and the professionalism of your employee. On that note, I have two basement windows in need of replacement, with at least one requiring new framing within the concrete opening. Let me put it this way: Can you remove everything from both openings and then install new framing, and also supply and install the windows? There’s no hurry, but I have no reason to delay either.”

Feedback - “The service was promptly scheduled, the gentleman assigned was right on time and he was extremely pleasant and professional. The work was quick and well done. My problem with “My Handyman” is the fees that are charged. The work I required was a 10 to 15 minute job, which I explained but was told there was a 1 hour, $124.00 minimum. Ultimately it was my decision to go forward with the service, but had it been under different circumstances, I would not have done so.
Response - We realize some customers find our prices high without realizing there are costs to delivering quality, quaranteed work. We always ask customers with very small jobs to find a few small items to insure they get the full hour worth of service.

He was very conscientious about my time and the cleanliness of his work area. He does very good work! Though you’re not asking, I want to offer that the rates are higher than expected. I would use you more often but having spent over $600 to have some shelves installed and other basic things like batteries and light bulbs replaced, will have to schedule service sparingly.”

Feedback - “Scheduling - hard to get an exact date and also the open-ended nature of the afternoon appointment.”
Response - Some customers aren’t comfortable with the flexibility we need on afternoon jobs. This is due to variability in when the morning job will complete. We work hard to alert you to changes in arrival time, i.e. we’ll call you an hour before we expect to arrive so you don’t have to worry.

Response - We always give customers a range of hours, what we call a guesstimate. For this job, with 2 runs of pipes to frame plus drywall only (no tape or mud) the laundry room, we said 10-14 hrs. There were more than ceiling issues to frame around but we managed to complete the work in 14 hrs. Sometimes customers only hear the lower number and are disappointed when we exceed it?

Response - Judy and her husband are great customers and this was a big job. I immediately went out to visit and learn what went wrong. We were remodeling a bathroom and it turned out the exterior wall and the window were totally rotted and had to be replaced (new framing). These costs weren’t considered in the original project but had to be done so the cost was much higher than anticipated.”

Feedback - “The fact that the service tech was knowledgeable and confident and knew just what to do to get my large air conditioning unit installed perfectly, efficiently and solidly. He also told me how to clean the filter, and told me what to get to repair my smaller a/c unit (just self tapping sheet metal screws, which I had never heard of before, and until then, thought I would have to junk that a/c unit). He was also courteous, respectful and conversational, felt comfortable and confident the minute he walked in! So glad I called you, it was well worth the money spent, and less stressful than trying to get someone less knowledgeable to help me with the job. Have already started to spread the word!”

However, I have a question about that tax credit for the windows themselves. The following IRS statement refers to a sticker that was on the windows, however in cleaning up Brandon removed them. Can you confirm that the windows that were installed on my house complied with the various requirements, and therefore are eligible for the tax credit? Its OK if they don’t, but I would like to know one way or the other.
Note: We will follow up with the manufacturer, Harvey Industries, to get the necessary paperwork for the customer to receive their tax credit … and he ordered the hopper windows.
